Our world is moving at a pace that many of us find difficult to control or sometime to understand.  Just when we think we “have it down”, something happens to change the way we look at our work, our neighborhoods, our relationships and our lives.   Our community – our “neighborhood” – is redefined by forces like technology, communication and the mobility we all enjoy.   All around us, our world is REINVENTing itself and giving new meanings and levels of importance to the things we know and do. 

In 2013, TEDx Muskegon will explore the world of “REINVENTion” as we look at the ways we live and interact with each other, our community and our world.  Speakers will explore questions like:

• 'What are the skills do we need to succeed in a world of change?'
• 'What are the things we need to hang on to so we can remain grounded and able to thrive?'
• “What around us needs changing?”
• “How can we improve our world around us?”
• “Is this change I desire really making it (the world, my community) better?”
• “What can I offer the world that is different?”
• “What new opportunities lay before us?”
• “What can inspire us to REINVENT ourselves?”
• “What should be done when REINVENTion means changing the way we look at something that does not need to change?”

In 2013, TEDx speakers will bring examples of how they understand the process of REINVENTion and its impact on our world.  They will also inspire, entertain and challenge us to action so we can make change a part of our lives. 

Maybe your desire to REINVENT is a personal one.  Or maybe it is to REINVENT your business. Or maybe you have a vision for a change YOU would like to see in our world.  Let TEDx Muskegon 2013 be a place that starts you on a path to action or provides support along your journey.

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDx[name], where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDx[name] event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
